Apple swapped its annual larger-than-life event with a virtual one this year as it introduced its new line-up of devices from Apple Park in Cupertino. At the special event titled ‘Time Flies’, Apple announced its new products such as Apple Watch Series 6, Apple Watch SE, the new iPad Air, iPad 8, Apple Fitness+ and the Apple One program. As reported before, Apple didn’t debut the iPhone 12 lineup at this event. In case you missed the keynote but still want to know about all the new products launched at the event, here’s everything Apple announced.

Apple Watch Series 6

The first announcement of the day was the Apple Watch Series 6. The next-generation smartwatch from Apple has the same design as the Series 5, however, it features improved internals and new finishes – such as an oxymeter sensor (SpO2 sensor). With the oxymeter sensor, Apple Watch Series 6 is able to measure blood oxygen levels and will help you to take the measurement in just 15 seconds.

Another improvement on the Apple Watch Series 6 is the presence of a new and faster S6 chip for better performance. With advanced overall performance and new sensors, such as an altimeter, health functionalities like blood oxygen measurement, sleep tracking, ECG measurement and heart rate monitoring, the Apple Watch Series 6 has truly become a world class watch for fitness enthusiasts.

Apple Watch Series 6 also introduces a new Blue colour case, in addition to Gold, Silver, and Space Grey, while a new stainless steel Graphite model (apart from the existing gold) was also introduced, as well as a (Product)RED model with matching bands. Titanium finish in Natural Titanium and Space Black colours were also unveiled. The company also unveiled its new Solo Loop and Leather Link bands for Apple Watch models. Apple will offer the new Apple Watch Series 6 with prices starting at $399 in US (roughly around 1,450 QAR in Qatar).

Apple Watch SE

Apple has also announced the new Apple Watch SE, a budget centric Apple Watch. It has the same design as the Series 5, but it features the S5 chip which is twice as fast as the Apple Watch Series 3, watchOS 7 and a built-in compass. It has the same accelerometer, gyroscope, and always-on altimeter as the Apple Watch Series 6 and is said to provide 18 hours of battery life.

Users will get an optical heart rate monitor that provides high and low heart rate notifications, apart from an irregular heart rhythm notification. Fall detection, emergency SOS, international emergency calling, and other safety features also make their way to the new Apple Watch SE. It does not have an always-on retina display, blood oxygen monitoring, electrical heart sensor and no support for ECG apps.

The affordable Apple Watch SE will be available in 40mm and 44mm cases with Gold, Silver, and Space Gray aluminium finishes. It will also be having GPS and GPS+Cellular variants. Apple Watch SE prices will start at $279 globally (roughly around 1015 QAR in Qatar).

Apple iPad Air

Apple also announced the all-new iPad Air that now resembles the iPad Pro. Unlike the iPad Pro which uses FaceID, the new iPad Air gets a redesigned TouchID that is embedded inside the power button at the top of the device. The iPad Air is powered by the A14 Bionic, the same processor which will also power the iPhone 12. Apple’s A14 Bionic is built on 5nm technology with 11.8 billion transistors. The new iPad Air now comes with USB-C and an improved camera. The new model appears to be a solid alternative to high-end Windows laptops. Apple iPad Air 4 series price starts at $599, so we expect the prices in Qatar to start roughly around 2,200 QAR.

The New iPad (iPad 8)

The entry-level iPad has been updated with the A12 Bionic chip. It has the same design as the previous model but now features the advanced A12 Bionic chipset. Apple touts the new iPad is more powerful than rival laptops and tablets. The new iPad combines tremendous capability with unmatched ease of use and versatility. With the powerful A12 Bionic chip, support for Apple Pencil and the Smart Keyboard, and the amazing new things you can do with iPadOS 14.

With the new iPad, getting work done is all hustle and no hassle. Edit a document while researching something on the web and making a FaceTime call to a colleague at the same time. Attach a full‑size Smart Keyboard for comfortable typing. And for tasks that require more precision, support for a trackpad or mouse complements the familiar Multi‑Touch experience of iPad. The iPad 8th generation is available for $329 globally, so we expect the prices in Qatar to start at 1,200 QAR (Approximate price).

Apple Fitness+

As reported earlier, Apple has introduced its new fitness service, designed around the Apple Watch. Apple Fitness+ makes it easy for everyone to get the best workout on the iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. There’s even a program for beginners. It’s called Apple Fitness+ and will cost  $9.99 per month, or $79.99 per year. The service will offer workout classes spanning many categories, including cycling and yoga and more. Apple says it will add new workout sessions every week.

Apple One service bundles

The long-rumored Apple One plans are official. Apple One is an all‑in‑one subscription that bundles up to six Apple services. It’s the easiest way to get your favorite Apple services at one incredible price — and get even more enjoyment out of your Apple devices. Apple One includes the best services to keep you entertained and informed, as well as iCloud storage for your photos, files, and more. Services include Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud, Apple News+, and, coming in late 2020, Apple Fitness+. Apple One will come in individual plans for $14.95 a month Family plans are $19.95 a month and a Premier plan is $29.95 a month.
