NETGEAR FS728TP-100EUS 24 Port PoE Switch
With a total power budget of 192 watts the FS728TP provides lots of flexibility: you can choose to network up to 24 devices, power and network up to 24 devices or deploy a combination of both. Power over Ethernet (PoE) optimises the installation and power management of network devices such as Wireless Access Points, Voice over IP (VoIP) telephones and IP-based security cameras. The use of Power over Ethernet significantly reduces installation time and the costs for deploying wireless, IP telephony and surveillance from the restrictions of electrical socket proximity using a standard CAT-5 networking cable. You can also enable uninterruptible power supply for all your PoE devices by powering your switch from a UPS device.
Smart Switch with Easy Browser-based Management
Like all of NETGEAR’s Smart Managed Switches, the FS728TP Fast Smart Switch with built in PoE offers an intuitive web-based management tool for quick and easy deployment and configuration, making it easy to deploy networking devices, wireless, telephony and surveillance. This easy to use browser-based interface can be used to configure all features, as well as monitoring and trouble-shooting. FS728TP switches also have SNMP (v1, 2c and 3) to collect and track data to monitor the network health, as well as manage devices and more easily enforce critical IT controls and policies. SNMP v2c is most commonly deployed, as it provides better reporting capabilities than SNMP v1. Companies interested in more robust security may opt for SNMP v3, which provides data encryption. The FS728TP Smart Switch is equipped with highly advanced features, including Access Control Lists (ACLs), port authentication, enhanced QoS, rate limiting and IGMP snooping, to provide a small and medium-sized business with a network that is geared for growth while providing scalability and reliability.
Connectivity & Reliability
With the utility of 24 10/100 Mbps ports, two gigabit ports and two combination Gigabit ports for optional fibre connectivity (Copper/hot-swappable Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP)), growing business networks, classrooms and workgroups can benefit from superior performance and keep up with expanding network needs. This high performing smart managed switch features a non-blocking wire-speed architecture with an 12.8Gbps switching capacity for maximum data throughput. All 28 Ethernet ports automatically negotiate to the highest speed and support Auto Uplink technology to make the right connection. All ProSafe Smart Switches provide world-class reliability with a Limited Lifetime warranty and optional ProSupport Maintenance Packages. These switches are optimised for ProSafe Network Management Software (NMS100) and works with other SNMP-based management software.
Advanced Security and QoS
FS728TP switches also provide advanced features that provide more robust security to growing small and medium sized businesses, which includes the 802.1x standard for authentication and ACL filtering to permit or deny traffic based on MAC (physical address) and IP (logical) address. Priority queuing ensures high-priority traffic gets delivered efficiently, even during congestion from high traffic bursts. For example, organisations implementing network telephony or video conferencing need to be able to prioritise voice and video communications over less time-sensitive traffic to ensure reliability and quality. The ability to prioritise traffic ensures the quality of time-sensitive services and applications, despite increased traffic loads. The ProSafe FS728TP Smart Switch provides several advanced QoS features including 802.1p based prioritisation, Layer 3-based (DSCP) prioritisation and rate limiting.
