Huawei P50 Pro and Huawei P50 smartphones have been launched. The two phones sport unique capsule-like rear camera modules. The Pro model comes with two SoC variants — powered by Kirin 9000 and Snapdragon 888 — aimed at different markets. Huawei P50 Pro is the more premium model of the two, and it comes with a quad-camera setup on the back with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 64-megapixel telephoto shooter. Huawei P50 and P50 Pro specifications and features

The Huawei P50 has a 6.5-inch OLED FHD+ flat panel, whereas the P50 Pro features a 6.6-inch OLED FHD+ slightly curved screen. Both smartphones sport a punch-hole display, in-screen fingerprint scanner, HDR10+, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The P50 offers a 90Hz refresh rate, whereas the P50 Pro model supports a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Snapdragon 888 4G chipset is present under the hood of the P50 and P50 Pro smartphones. The Pro model will be also available with Kirin 9000 4G chipset version. The P50 duo offers up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of built-in storage. For additional storage, these phones are equipped with an NM card slot. The Huawei P50 gets a 4,100mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging. On the other hand, the P50 Pro has a 4,360mAh battery that offers 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The Huawei P50’s rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and laser autofocus, a 12-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS support, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the other side, the Huawei P50 Pro features a quad-camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS support, a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS support, a 40-megapixel monochrome camera, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens.

The P50 promises up to 80x hybrid zoom, whereas the P50 Pro offers an impressive 200x hybrid zoom. Other photography features offered by the P50 series include AIS Pro super anti-shake, 4K time-lapse photography, 1080p videos at 960fps, and 4K video recording in all focal lengths. The P50 duo is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera for capturing selfies.

The Huawei P50 and P50 Pro run HarmonyOS 2 based on Android 11. The other features that are available on the P50 duo include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, stereo speakers (only on P50 Pro), and a USB Type-C port. Lastly, both handsets feature an IP68 rating.

The Snapdragon 888 4G SoC powered Huawei P50 comes in two options such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. and can be bought in hues like white, black, and gold.
